About me
and my work

My name is Silvana Juri, I'm currently completing a Masters in Sustainable Design at the University of Brighton. With a background in Fine Arts and Graphic Design, I've spent over 8 years engaging with creative practices especially in close relationship with community outreach.

I have been taken part in academic teams, workshops, lectures and community activities especially from my experience with the graphic arts and communication design. As a design professional, I have produced work for many local and international clients and have lead teams of designers.

Interests and aspirations

My curiosity and passion for the relationship between the role food plays in people’s lifestyles and our cultures, has led me to develop and expanded my interests by exploiting this area of humanity and connecting it to my design practice. My research interest intersects the potential of design for sustianability and social change and the use of collaborative methods to promote discussions and motivate changes that will impact on people’s lives at a personal and global level.
My goal is to help people embrace dietary habits that could bring about a new food culture to positively affect society and the planet as a whole.

Workshop development

Through my work and research, I've developed this workshop experience as a vehicle to facilitate discussions and envisage directions in which to move forward. It has served the purpose of a research tool but has also proven to generate richer responses and highly engage participants, proving that combining emotions and experiences that are based on social and communal aspects is a promising approach. I hope you can also find this method useful. Lastly, I would love to hear about any further developments that this might lead to, so do stay in touch
